My Latest painting.

well I have finally gotten my latest painting done.  It's a portrait of a famous author.  I hope you can tell who it is.  Portraits are elusive paintings that can change with the stroke of the brush from looking just like the subject to nothing like them.

Da Vinci carried the Mona Lisa around for years obsessing on the painting.  He was still working on it at the time of his death.

Well anyway, that said I may well be tweaking with this painting for a few more weeks, doing little fine tunings like defining an edge or softening some feature.
But I got the canvas covered with paint.

It's 24"wide by 18"high painted on canvas board in acrylics and transparent airbrush paints an took about twenty hours to get to this point.  Framed as shown.
Please let me know what you think of it.

I sent this to Ms. Rice a few hours ago as i said in would so she got to see it before anyone else.  I hope she likes it but may not respond to my email.

Welcome To Rick's Interactive Art Blog

This will be an interactive art blog where you get to watch art projects develop and your input is used throughout the process as the paintings evolves.

This can also be a learning process.  I will be revealing my basic techniques of creating and painting a work of art.

Examples of my work can be seen here:

Here's the latest I just finished:

I may yet add something in the lower left.

My current project is nearly done and my next will be a painting of Stephen King, but not just King, a version of King done up as one of his characters,  but which one?  Which one of King's characters best fit him?
You tell me.  when I get enough ideas I'll choose one and take it step by step from start to finish.  All the while i'll be chatting here listening to ideas and suggestions as the work progresses.
